Chapter: Monty

For those of you who still do not know, Monty Oum was administered to the hospital a few days ago. It is with great sadness that I must also inform you all that yesterday, February 1st, 2015, Monty passed away.

This information was given to me during both of these circumstances by a close friend of mine, and I did not believe them either time and went to confirm it for myself. I humbly apologize to you dear friend, but the thought of what has occurred was more shocking to me than I may have expressed.

I have had most of today to think over what I want to write here, but no words can truly convey my thoughts. Many other RWBY Fanfiction writers and I'm sure other writers and artists in general have expressed their feelings concerning his passing and I feel like I share the same mindset as them. I had a tough time pushing aside this news to make it through my day, crying had to wait until I was home. It really made me think of how fragile and short life can be, and that our one true birthright can be taken away faster than you can blink.

I am currently watching the RT Podcast, and I cannot keep my eyes clear of tears. I've never seen the crew this somber, and the tribute they have put up for him has me bawling in my seat. I've never even met him, and it still feels as though a part of my heart has been ripped out.

I have decided to try and mold part of my own life with Monty Oum's conviction to create. It is by his influence that I am here writing this today, and I will continue to write and create by his lead. If there is anything any of you want to say about Monty, or just need someone to talk to, please message me. I will put all of your thoughts onto the end of Chapter 11. A compilation of sorts.

In respect to his passing, I will not release a chapter 9 of 'What Once Was Lost', in its place is this message I have written and my promise that I will see this story to its eventual end. I will still eagerly await the next volume of RWBY and any other content created by RoosterTeeth.

Monty was and always will be an inspiration to creative minds everywhere. Stay Gold Monty Oum. You will be missed dearly. We love you, so much.
